Hi,
I have a “.kar” file with Vietnamese lyrics. Whenever I edit the lyrics, it looks good in lyrics display, but when I save it and open it, it shows a question mark (?). For example, I type “giờ”, then save it and open it, it shows “g?”
I tried to change the setting to Vietnamese but it doesn’t work. I’m so desperate.
Please help. Your help is appreciated
Thank you

Yes, you’re right, I can reproduce this problem with Korean songs.
When using the Korean character set, the lyrics of the songs are displayed correctly, but you can’t change them.
When I fix this problem, I will also make the Vietnamese character set available in the Karaboss options.Thank you for your comment and my frienship to Vietnam
January 16, 2021 at 11:45 pm #2374FabriceKeymasterHello Khanh,
this bug should be fixed in the version 1.0.7.3 of Karaboss available since January 16 2021.
Please try and let me know if averything is correct.January 24, 2021 at 4:13 am #2376khanhgomsuParticipantHi,
Thank you for your support and I’m sorry for the late response. I have a chance to test the new Karaboss version 1.0.7.3 today. I download and install on top of the old version (without uninstalling the old one). When I edit the lyrics, it display correctly, but when I save it and open it, unfortunately, it still shows question mark (?). In the font setting, I choose “Arial”, and script “western” or “vietnamese”. I try to play on Vanbasco, it is still the question mark. I look up online, someone says that we have to change the language setting, region setting, or ascii code, unicode, blablabla…. That sounds complicated. I wish someone can tell me what the exact problem is and the solution.
Again, thank you for your time and effort
Best wishes!January 24, 2021 at 10:24 am #2377FabriceKeymasterHello Khanh,
I think you’re talking about the font settings in the lyrics settings window.
What did you put as parameters in the explorer menu: Tools > Options > Song text Encoding?
Did you leave the encoding on “Ascii”?
This is the default value.
If so, can you set another encoding for the fonts ? Vietnamese encoding if possible.January 29, 2021 at 8:48 am #2378khanhgomsuParticipantHi Fabrice,
Thank you for your response. I followed your instruction. I set both font setting and text encoding to Vietnamese but when I save it, it still shows question mark. Is there anything else that I can try? By the way, is there anyway that you can test on your computer to see the result? If you succeed, can you show me how? Try this text “Bây giờ”. On my computer, after saving, it shows “Bây gi?”Thank you

I just figured out that there is something wrong with my file. It was probably encoded in a strange font that I couldn’t either read or write in standard Vietnamese. Then I try another midi file and Karaboss displays lyrics very well in Vietnamese. Both of the songs I tested are in Vietnamese but something wrong with the first one . I’m sorry if I bothered you.
Thank you for your support
Best wishes
