Definition
CDG is a format designed for karaoke.
It consists of two files: an MP3 file and a CDG file.
The advantage of this format is that it stores the lyrics of an MP3 file in graphic form, providing karaoke with MP3 quality and displaying the lyrics in video form, which is much more advanced than simply displaying the lyrics.
It therefore includes the following two files:
- A (.mp3) file for the music.
- A (.cdg) file containing graphics, lyrics, and synchronization data.
For practical reasons, the MP3+G file pair is also packaged and compressed in ZIP format.
