A simple, effective midi player
The Karaboss karaoke MIDI player can be accessed from the explorer by double-clicking on a file or by clicking on the ‘play’ button.
It has all the classic functions of any self-respecting player:
- Play a single file:
- Play, pause and stop
During playback, you can move forward or backward in time by moving the horizontal scrollbar.
- Play, pause and stop
- Navigating a playlist:
- The “Next” and “Previous” buttons allow you to navigate through the items in the playlist. In this case, the tracks are launched immediately, without pausing or counting down.
- Settings:
- Volume
- Song-specific :
- Change the tempo, i.e. speed up or slow down the speed at which the song is played.
- Transpose the song (lower or higher) to adapt the pitch to your voice.
- Mute the sound of the vocal track (‘Melody’ button)
Note that this function can be automated by selecting the corresponding option in the Karaboss settings.

A karaoke player
Combined with this player, the karaoke window will be displayed automatically when the file contains lyrics.
The display of this window can be disabled in the options for those who are only interested in the instrumental aspect.

Notes
- How do I display the score editor?
The score editor is hidden by default.
To display the score editor (the MIDI sequencer), simply click on ‘Midi Sequencer’ in the ‘View’ menu. It is only visible when the player is stopped.
This menu is backed up by a keyboard shortcut: the F12 key, which works in toggle mode: the first press displays the editor, the second hides it.
It is active even when the player is playing.
