The playlist manager

Why a playlist manager in Karaboss and why use it?

Like all playlist managers, the Karaboss playlist manager lets you manage song lists.

The typical advantage of the Karaboss playlist manager is that you can organise your karaoke evenings in advance by preparing song lists. This will save you a tedious search through your music library, which could spoil the mood.
You can indicate the name of the singer who has booked the song.

The sequence of songs can be fully configured via the Tools > Options menu.

You can pause, countdown or chain the songs in the playlist.

But you can of course use it for much more than just karaoke (French singers, favourite songs, tour de chant, sheet music for piano practice, etc.).

How do I launch a playlist?

Simply double-click on any file in the list and the karaoke player will start playing the playlist from the selected song.

How do I add a song to a playlist?

You can do this from the « explorer », “search” and even « playlists » pages.
Click on the ‘add to playlist’ button, or right-click on the selected song.

Add your song to an existing playlist:
Choose the playlist from the drop-down list.
Add your song to a new playlist:
Select the ‘New playlist’ item. A new window will ask you to name the new playlist before adding the song.

How do I create a new playlist?

The button bar above the list of playlists lets you create and delete folders and empty playlists.

Folders are used to classify your playlists by category.

Notes

Playlists can be created using a wide range of file formats:

  • MIDI files: .mid and .kar)
  • Music XML files, XML: .xml and compressed XML .mxl
  • mp3 files
